Mayo Clinic Proceedings - Symposium on Neoplastic Hematology and Medical Oncology - Head and Neck Squamous Cell Cancer: Update on Epidemiology, Diagnosis, and Treatment (March 1, 2016)

Participation in this activity consists of reviewing articles and responding to a short online test. It is estimated that this activity will take approximately one hour per article. There is no charge for participating in this Journal CME activity.

The target audience for Mayo Clinic Proceedings is primarily internal medicine physicians and other clinicians who wish to advance their current knowledge of clinical medicine and who wish to stay abreast of advances in medical research.
On completion of this article, you should be able to (1) recognize the changes in the epidemiology and diagnosis of virus-related head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC), (2) associate human papilloma virus with oropharyngeal squamous cell cancer and differentiate the clinical and molecular phenotypes in HNSCC, (3) recall the current standard of care management of locally advanced oropharynx and larynx squamous cell cancers, and (4) review the risk stratification of oropharyngeal squamous cell cancer.
