Advances in concussion diagnosis and management continue to evolve. In this CME webinar, Mayo Clinic experts will discuss the latest knowledge in diagnostic evaluation, tools and rehabilitation for sports related concussion. Jennifer Maynard, M.D., CAQSM, Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and the Program Director for the Sports Medicine Fellowship will discuss the latest in diagnosis with sideline and in-office evaluation. Tava R. Buck, P.T., D.P.T and Amanda L. Lazo, OT, will discuss the rehabilitation options to allow patients to take a more active role in their recovery to return to sport.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of sports related concussion (SRC)
  • Utilize sideline SCAT-5 and/or King-Devick test for diagnosis
  • Apply vestibulo-visio evaluation in the office to help direct rehabilitation
  • Identify active rehabilitation options for patients with SRC including cervical manipulation, exercise therapy, vestibulocular rehab exercises.
