Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of heat related conditions in the athletic population (Domain 3, Task: 0302)
  • Identify exertional heat illness/ stroke in the athletes (Domain 3, Task: 0302)
  • Validate initiating heat protocol in the athletic setting (Domain 3, Task: 0301)
  • Define heat illness progressions (Domain 3, Task: 0301)
  • Evaluation and treatment for on field management (Domain 3, Task: 0302 & 0303)
  • Identify risk factors and preventative measures (Domain 1, Task: 0102)
