Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

1. Review currently available data regarding timing of surgery after neoadjuvant therapy for breast cancer
2. Summarize guidelines for perioperative management of patients on neoadjuvant chemotherapy
3. Recognize the value to the multi-disciplinary cancer team of defined critical elements of cancer operations
4. Demonstrate the differences between measurements of institutional processes of care and surgical standards
5. Assess the value of national accreditation standards for the delivery of optimal patient care
6. Interpret the Mayo Rochester data on 30-day complications by time after neoadjuvant chemotherapy
