Title: "Stroke in Women: The Impact of Sex and Gender on Cerebrovascular Health"
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recognize sex- and gender-specific differences in stroke epidemiology, presentation, and outcomes.
- Identify female-specific stroke risk factors across the reproductive lifespan.
- Summarize the pathophysiology, prevention, and treatment of stroke in pregnant and postpartum patients.
- Describe the relationship between menopausal hormone therapy and stroke risk, including how risk varies by hormone formulation, route of administration, timing of initiation, and patient-specific vascular risk factors.
