Palm Desert, CA US
February 15, 2017

Course Directors: Jason S. Eldrige, M.D.Susan M. Moeschler, M.D.

Family physicians can complete the ABFM Knowledge Self-Assessment (formerly known as SAM) on Pain Management. Participants work as a group, learning from one another. The session is led by family physicians who are experienced Knowledge Self-Assessment moderators, assisted by pain management content experts. The group discusses 60 core competency questions and answers.

For this session, family physician attendees do not need an individual computer or Internet access; come equipped only with a desire to learn and to share expertise with your peers. After the session, we will submit the groups' answers on a single group answer sheet. Later, individuals can log in to the ABFM website and claim their credit.  Note that the Clinical Self-Assessment (formerly Clinical Simulation) is now optional.

Target Audience

The 2017 course is targeted towards non-pain specialists of all backgrounds, including general internal medicine, emergency medicine, neurology, family medicine, physiatrists, psychiatrists, hospitalists, advanced-practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other non-pain specialists.
