TSAM® Essentials 2.0 - Online CNE Nursing Course

This online CNE course is designed to provide tools to transform your organization’s Department of Nursing orientation using the TSAM® Model. Includes developing competency statements aligned with ANA and nursing specialty scope and standards of practice and content for use in a digital format, plus more implementation strategies. **TSAM® is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. 

Session topics include stakeholder buy in and change management, preceptor training, development of TSAM® competency statements, and utilization in a digital platform. You will receive literature articles, links to TSAM® implementation videos, templates, and exemplars to help you implement TSAM® in your organization.

Course opens Jan. 1, 2026. 

Target Audience

This online CNE nursing course is designed for Nursing Professional Development Specialists, Nurse Educators, Nurse Leaders, Preceptor Program Directors, Nurse Residency Program Coordinators, and Orientation Program Directors.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  • Discuss the key components and benefits of TSAM®
  • Develop effective strategies for preceptors to use to support orientee clinical knowledge development, critical thinking, and clinical judgement
  • Create successful teaching/learning TSAM® tools for implementation at your organization
  • Identify appropriate TSAM® outcome measures for program evaluation
  • Design a TSAM® implementation plan to use within your organization including timeline, key team members, evaluation plan, and principles for sustainment
