Mayo Clinic's 26th Edition “Teach the Teachers” Advanced Elbow Surgical Skills Course Forge the Future: Stiff Elbow is an advanced level course designed for orthopedic surgeons with a special interest in upper extremity trauma, elbow surgery and trauma surgery. The course provides technical skills orientation, with the didactic portions limited to the necessary introductions and theoretical knowledge required for the technical components. Live surgical broadcasts used during lecture sessions demonstrate surgical techniques pertaining to this year's topic of stiff elbow as well as other areas of elbow orthopedics.

The course will highlight state of the art MR techniques for musculoskeletal, abdominal, cardiovascular, and breast imaging, and include updates on some related topics such as PET-MRI, abdominal MRI protocols, cardiac MRI, and MR guided intervention for the prostate. The course is intended to be practical rather than theoretical in nature, and the faculty is composed mostly of practicing radiologists.

Pain management is a combination of science and art. We have a variety of treatment options to choose from however some have significant potential for harm and some the potential to be abused and carry the risk of dependence. We need to choose our treatments carefully, based on the type of pain we are treating as well as other health conditions found in our patient. In addition to the various analgesic products, other options include injections, nerve blocks and several integrative medicine alternatives. In this podcast, we’ll discuss the various pain management options we have available and hopefully give you some new ideas to help manage pain in your patients. Our guest for this podcast is Christy L. Hunt, D.O., a Pain Medicine specialist at the Mayo Clinic.
