  • Understand aspects in management of sepsis and septic shock physiology.
  • Review the rationale for lactate vs. central venous oxygenation in management of Sepsis and Septic Shock.
  • Appreciate the strengths and shortcomings of both as targets of severe sepsis and septic shock management and  incorporate the current knowledge to daily clinical practice.
  • Emphasize the current sepsis campaign 3 and 6 hr targets highlighting the most important aspects.
