•Review of SGLT2 function in the Kidney
•Discussion of benefit of use of SGLT2 inhibitor in diabetes mellitus
•Current experience with SGLT2 inhibitors in Type 2 and type 1 diabetes mellitus
•Review of  known side effects of these drugs
•Discussion of current evidence linking SGLT2 inhibitor to euDKA
•Review current upcoming trial data for evaluation of SGLT2 inhibitors on CVD and Renal Disease
