Addiction Medicine for Primary Care Providers 2018
The disease of addiction is often misunderstood which contributes to bias, limited recognition and poor treatment. The neurobiology of addiction has been well established and is a way for physicians and other caregivers to come to understand some of the primary characteristics of this disease. Dr. Seppala will describe the main features of the neurobiology of addiction and how brain pathology drives maladaptive behaviors.
Addiction Medicine for Primary Care Providers workshop is jointly provided by Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation and will be facilitated by their faculty.
