Through insightful discussions, attendees acquire a deep understanding of the unique challenges encountered by Hispanic/Latina women in medicine and learn effective strategies to overcome them. Renowned speakers lead the discussion on a variety of topics, including career advancement, leadership skills, and work-life balance. This course addresses important issues such as equity advocacy, microaggressions, culturally sensitive care, and healthcare disparities among Hispanics. Whether a student, early-career professional, or established practitioner, this course provides a networking platform to connect, share experiences, and find mentorship to support your journey in healthcare.

Abstract Session
We invite abstract submissions for the Hispanic/Latina Women in Medicine: Critical Needs for Empowerment and Transformation in Practice focusing on the contributions, challenges, achievements, and topics related to Diversity and Inclusion impacting Hispanic/Latina Women in Medicine . This conference aims to provide a platform for sharing research, experiences, and insights to advance the representation and success of Hispanic/Latina Women in healthcare. We invite you to take advantage of this unique opportunity and submit an abstract to be presented as a poster during the Hispanic/Latina Women in Medicine: Critical Needs for Empowerment and Transformation in Practice 2024.
Target Audience
Physician, physician assistant, nurse, nurse practitioner, resident, fellow, student, and other healthcare professionals.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify skills needed to overcome challenges faced by Hispanic/Latina Women in Medicine.
- List cultural biases related to Hispanic/Latina Women in Medicine stereotypes that may impact patient care.
- Assess practical strategies to increase well-being of Hispanic/Latina Women in Medicine.
- Define skills for Hispanic/Latina Women in Medicine leadership development.
- Recognize networking opportunities for Hispanic/Latina Women in Medicine career advancement
- Examine healthcare disparities in the Hispanic/Latino population
- Contrast initiatives for community engagement in the Hispanic/Latino population.

A special room block rate of $299 (USD) with applicable city/state taxes, plus a $25 non-commissionable daily resort fee (usually $35), per night, is available for course participants and guests.
Resort fee will cover amenities such as wifi, guest room calls, access to the spa facilities, complimentary 2-hour bike rental per registered guest per day, tennis-pickleball, and basketball court privileges (including equipment rental).
Gated self-parking is available for $10 for up to 10 hours or $20 for overnight parking.
