What’s New in Family Medicine – La Crosse 2019

What’s New in Family Medicine is a one day course designed for the family medicine physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner and nurses. This course will provide attendees with current and relevant updates for daily care and management of a variety of patient health concerns in primary care.
On April 11, there will be an evening training session on Responsible Opioid Prescribing. This 2.25 hour CME activity has been approved to meet the requirements of the Wisconsin Medical Examinig Board and is required for license renewal in Wisconsin in the 2019 renewal cycle. Accreditation will be handled by Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association. Registration is limited to 50 attendees.

Target Audience
This course is designed for the Primary Care Physicians (M.D. or D.O.) physician assistant, nurse practitioner and nurses.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Describe risks/benefits/indications/contraindications for new biologic therapies for cancer
- Integrate an additional modality for the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain
- Demonstrate an understanding of pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV
- Describe ways to prevent lower extremity injuries in young athletes
- List the advantages to patients and physician of an integrated behavioral health
