Women in Leadership, Medicine and Academics - WILMA 2021 - LIVESTREAM
Course Directors: Jill Lenhart, M.D. and Terri Nordin, M.D.
April 22, 2021 - LIVESTREAM - CT
**This course is for Mayo Clinic Staff Only**.
This course is being offered to increase the number of women faculty and staff members who initiate scholarly activity and achieve academic appointments (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor). For various reasons, female faculty members achieve Associate and Professor rank at a rate lower than their male counterparts. This is true both within and outside Mayo. Additionally, many faculty and staff within the Northwest Wisconsin region (where the event originates) are encouraged to engage in scholarly activity yet have less experience. This conference proposes to raise awareness of the steps needed for women to advance their scholarly and academic careers.
This course is designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nursing leaders (directors, manager and supervisors), administrative leaders and eMERGing leaders.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe strategies and tools for leading more effectively
- Identify the value of academic progression in their career and formulate a plan for next steps in the progression.
- Assess barriers to and approaches for focusing on meaning in your career/practice.
