Individualizing Medicine 2016: From Promise to Practice focuses on translating genomic research into clinical practice. This conference provides opportunities for the multidisciplinary care team to discover and discuss emerging topics in applied genomics through plenary and focused sessions featuring expert speakers and poster presentations. Key themes include recent discoveries in pharmacogenomics, cancer diagnosis and treatment, microbiome, functional genomics, and much more. Continuing education opportunities are offered.

Course Objectives

  • Explain practical applications of genomics for individualizing patient care.
  • Outline strategies to overcome obstacles with implementing genomic medicine.
  • Discuss genomic technology applications, impact on health care delivery, and implications for patients and medical professionals
  • Examine predictive and prognostic genomic discoveries which impact the understanding of health and disease.
