LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Describe the underlying mechanisms of metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease, including the role of insulin resistance, lipotoxicity and inflammation in contributing to progressive hepatic fibrosis.
2. Discuss the recent FDA-approved therapies for MASH including their mechanisms of action, indications and clinical trial data.
3. Formulate strategies for defining the ‘at-risk’ patient with clinically significant MASH who is eligible for liver-directed pharmacotherapies.
4. Emphasize the importance of multidsciplinary approach in managing patients with MASLD / MASH involving dieticians, primary care providers, endocrinologists, and hepatologists.
