DESCRIPTION
This series for cardiac electrophysiology and implanted device teaching titled HRS Grand Rounds is a weekly discussion/lecture that is spread throughout the year.  The sessions are of three types namely curriculum-based didactic lectures, anatomic demonstrations for normal and congenitally abnormal hearts, and case discussions.  The speakers and discussants include consultants in cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, and heart rhythm specialist trainees mentored by consultants.  The course covers the general curriculum to form a basis for safe and effective cardiac rhythm clinical and invasive practice.  

TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience is cardiac electrophysiology practitioners (consultants and trainees), allied health staff (nurses and technicians, and general cardiac trainees).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the method in which knowledge of classic electrophysiology phenomena can be applied to the invasive electrophysiology laboratory practice.  
  • Formulate plans based on existing heart rhythm knowledge and guidelines for the pharmacological and nonpharmacological therapy of patients with heart rhythm disorders.
