DESCRIPTION

  • This series is only available to members of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.  Mayo staff members are not eligible to participate in this series.
  • Mayo staff can only participate in the live series.  The live sessions occur bi-monthly on Thursday, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.  

The Division of infectious diseases at Mayo Clinic is comprised of over 70 infectious diseases consultants, fellows, and allied health staff.  The infectious diseases case and research conference  is a highly valued educational conference that provides important updates to the infectious diseases  practitioner with the goal of implementing changes that lead to continual improvement in all three Mayo shields. This weekly one hour conference offers 2 infectious disease cases presented by infectious diseases fellows. Each case is discussed and a mini-review of the discussed topic is presented. 

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for infectious diseases physicians, microbiologists, mid-level providers, and physicians in training.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the gaps in their practice and the utility of adopting published national guidelines in the management of various infectious diseases. 
  • Explain how to formulate a clinical management plan according to expert data analysis to optimize resource utilization and patient care.
