This interactive course provides practical updates on common topics and challenges faced with infectious diseases and key information on the application of new developments in the field. Information is delivered by subject matter experts using case-based presentations and in-depth discussions including question and answer sessions geared to increase knowledge, performance, and patient outcomes. Attendees leave with up-to-date, practical information that can be applied immediately to their clinical practice.
Target Audience
This course is relevant for infectious diseases specialists, infectious diseases trainees, internists, pharmacists, hospitalists, and clinical infectious diseases researchers. The content also benefits physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, family physicians and clinical microbiologists with interest in managing patients with infections.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe best approaches to manage patients with multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria
- Recall advances in the diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections
- Determine how to incorporate artificial intelligence in infectious disease practice
- Review new diagnostic and treatment strategies for Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia and endovascular infections
- List principles for the diagnosis and management of osteoarticular infections
- Recognize methods to diagnose and manage patients with Lyme disease and other tick-transmitted diseases
- Define diagnosis and management strategies of infections in hematologic malignancy patients
