STiR 2025: Selected Topics in Rheumatology is a 3-day postgraduate course designed to update clinicians on a curated range of relevant rheumatology topics related to the busy rheumatology clinician across various rheumatology sub-disciplines.
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, fellows and allied health professionals.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the complexities in chronic pain syndromes.
- Describe the interplay of various pain pathway mechanisms.
- Develop management plans for challenging diagnostic and management uncertainties in systemic lupus erythematosus.
- Distinguish myositis mimics in the rheumatologic evaluation of patients with myopathies.
- Evaluate mimics in the diagnosis of suspected vasculitis.
- Formulate effective gout management plans for common and uncommon diagnostic and therapeutic quandaries.
- Integrate the latest treatment approaches in the therapeutic management of ANCA vasculitis at induction and in maintenance phases.
- Interpret radiology imaging in the evaluation of musculoskeletal complaints in those with rheumatic disease.
- Recognize newly identified rheumatoid risk factors and apply them to the diagnostic evaluation of those suspected of having rheumatoid arthritis.
- Recognize novel cellular therapies in rheumatology treatment landscape.
- Review the latest advances in treatment of giant cell arteritis and polymyalgia rheumatica.
- Review the roles for patient reported outcomes measures and tools in the care of rheumatoid arthritis patients.
