DESCRIPTION
The conference is divided into two half hour blocks. The first half is devoted to non-transplant liver cases, both consults and in-house, during which a liver pathologist presents the pathology of interesting/instructional cases using a multiheaded and projecting microscope. Hepatologists and GI/Hepatology fellows attend and provide clinical discussion. The second half is devoted to in-house transplant cases. Hepatologists and surgeons involved in the liver transplant service are present and discuss patients who have had a liver biopsy during the previous week.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is primarily intended for members of the liver pathology working group. This is intended for allied health professionals, fellows, residents, medical students, pathologists, and pathologist assistants.

- Identify the histologic features of acute cellular rejection in liver transplant biopsies.
- Formulate clinical differential diagnoses for the various patterns of injury seen in liver biopsies.
