Learning Objectives:
Identify the magnitude of the increase in risk of stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation
Identify the reduction in hemorrhagic stroke with left atrial appendage occlusion relative to that seen with warfarin
Identify issues of non-compliance to direct oral anticoagulant therapy (DOACS)
Identify what percentage of patients treated with left atrial appendage occlusion will be able to be followed without anticoagulation after one year
