Learning Objectives:
- Describe evolution of our treatment goals for IBD patients and role of deep remission with sustained disease control and improved outcomes
- Recognize the risk associated with corticosteroid use in IBD including mortality associated with prolonged corticosteroid courses
- Discus alternative causes of symptoms other than inflammation in the IBD patient
- Describe preventive measures for the IBD patient including optimal vaccination strategies
