  1. Summarize the epidemiology of infective endocarditis
  2. Describe the evaluation for a patient with suspected infective endocarditis
  3. Utilize the Modified Dukes criteria for the diagnosis of infective endocarditis
  4. Apply patient management principles for infective endocarditis
  5. Identify complications of infective endocarditis
  6. Recognize the need for or timing of surgical interventions for management of endocarditis.
