Brain & Spine General Session:

  • Multidisciplinary team approach of modern care for patients who suffer from challenging clinical neuroscience problems.
  • This course provides neuroscience care team members the latest advances and innovations in complex brain, spinal and peripheral nerve disorders including brain and skull base tumors, neurovascular diseases including complex arteriovenous malformations, spinal disorders including scoliosis, acute stroke, epilepsy, and other exciting and important neuroscience frontiers. 
  • The format will be case-based, with simulation demonstrations, panel discussions and hands-on workshops. 
  • The latest in procedural neuroscience technologies will be showcased.

Also provided are an Advanced Practice Provider Pre-Course and optional workshops designed to provide participants with a hands-on experience in neuroscience cutting edge procedures - see the Main Page to view these workshop descriptions.

Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians practicing in neurology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, medical oncology and primary care, as well as advanced practice nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other healthcare providers interested in the neurosciences.

  • Summarize the latest approaches pertaining to minimally invasive intracerebral hemorrhage treatment and acute ischemic stroke management
  • Review up-to-date multimodal management of brain arteriovenous malformations, dural fistulas and aneurysms
  • Identify modern indications for pediatric and adult scoliosis and minimally invasive spine surgery
  • Demonstrate modern multimodal management of skull base tumors and brain tumors

Enchantment Resort – there are limited rooms within the group room block.

Please note that you cannot secure a resort room at the Enchantment until you have course registered for the course.   An updated registration list will be provided to the resort daily Monday - Friday at 10:00 AM MST until the room block fills.  Note the room reservation must be made in the name of the registrant.  Only one room per paid registrant. A room block rate of $325 (USD), plus applicable city/state taxes, is available to course participants and guests.   A resort fee of $25 per night, per room, applies and includes local/800 calls, morning newspaper, entry into Mii amo spa, resort parking and use of all resort amenities and scheduled activities. WIFI is complimentary.  Children under the age of 18 stay complimentary.  Mayo Clinic group rates apply three days prior to and three days post-course dates, based on availability. To move around Sedona and surrounding areas, a vehicle is recommended.

Shuttle Service: Ace Xpress offers door-to-door transportation from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (or a Sky Harbor Airport hotel) to the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock. You must make your reservation at least 3 weeks prior to your arrival in Phoenix. This is not a direct shuttle.
