This course provides attendees with an update on the diagnosis and management of headache disorders. The format will include lectures from internationally renowned experts, panel discussions, interactive question and answer sessions, and optional small-group breakout sessions on special topics in headache. This symposium will also feature a pre-symposium Self-Assessment Activity.

Target Audience
This course is designed for general surgeons, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other allied health practitioners.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
Distinguish between primary headache disorders and headaches symptomatic of other disease.
- Differentiate episodic and chronic primary headache disorders to formulate diagnosis.
- Formulate treatment plans for primary headache disorders frequently encountered in both the primary care setting and general neurological practice.
- Manage headaches due to sports-related concussion.
- Apply techniques for the administration of Botox and nerve blocks in migraine and other headache disorders.
- Review the new American Headache Society evidence-based guidelines for the treatment of cluster headache.
- Explain AAN guidelines regarding appropriate dosage for acute or preventative medication treatment of migraines.
