Target Audience
This conference encourages and invites persons living with dementia, care partners and families, healthcare and other professionals who serve older adults, and anyone interested in supporting friends and neighbors who may be experiencing memory loss, Alzheimer’s or a related dementia to attend.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Identify current common misconceptions about dementia that lead to stigmatization and discrimination.
- Demonstrate innovative reforms we can make as a community and as society that offer families and those living with dementia a better quality of life.
- Summarize insights and understanding into the ways those living with dementia can reclaim their autonomy and redefine their sense of self.
- Give examples of ethical and social issues people with dementia face.
- Identify specific actions one can take to improve the life and wellbeing of a person living with dementia.
- State specific actions one can take to improve the life and wellbeing of a family caregiver.
