Michael J. Amery, Esq. serves as Senior Legislative Council for the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).  Amery runs the AAN’s Washington DC office and represents 30,000 neurologists and neuroscience professionals on Capitol Hill.  He started with the AAN’s Minnesota office in 2000 and opened the DC office in 2005. In 2007 he created AAN political action committee, BrainPAC.  In 2011 he was named as one of eight “Effective Association Lobbyists” by Association TRENDS magazine.

Prior to serving the AAN, Amery worked for the Hennepin County MN Board of Commissioners and for US Senator Rod Grams (R-MN)

Amery is a graduate of the University of Texas – Austin and of the University of Minnesota School of Law.  He also served as an elected official on the Maple Grove, MN City Council (pop. 60,000) from 2001-2005.

Illuminate areas of practice-based improvement within the neurosciences based on advancing scientific research or Practice-based improvement projects.
