Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify patients in whom ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunting should be considered for management of suspected normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH)
  • Recognize frontotemporal dementia (FTD) as a heterogenous syndrome and associate its pathological correlate frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) with the three most common underlying molecular pathologies
  • Apply the information learned about FTD to patients in whom further workup for possible atypical Alzheimer’s disease is prudent, particularly in corticobasal syndrome (CBS)
