Title:  Carotid Artery Disease:  A diminishing burden because of recent advances in Prevention and Treatment

  • To identify the incidence and pathophysiology of stroke caused by carotid artery disease
  • To recognize the rich evidence-base, primarily from randomized clinical trials, on prevention and treatment of carotid artery disease
  • To identify the strengths and limitations of the current prevention and treatment options available for patients with carotid artery disease
