Monthly in-house conference focused on neurosurgical trauma as well as didactic lectures relevant to trauma (to be specified).
In-Person and Live-Streamed; Fourth Monday of each month from 7:00-8:00 a.m. in Joseph 1-242
TARGET AUDIENCE
Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Resident Fellows.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize different types of medical errors, near misses, and adverse events that occur in our neurosurgical patients.
- Review neurosurgical cases with poor outcomes and apply root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes.
- Describe best practice standards for neurosurgical cases that occur in our department.
- Identify areas of improvement for prevention of future errors based on the root cause analysis.
