Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to

  • Discuss the pathology of benign breast lesions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the identification and management of common benign breast lesions and more rare lesions such as phyllodes tumors and radial scars.
  • Effectively interpret the radiology and pathology reports of common breast lesions to facilitate further investigation, and effective evidence-based clinical management.
  • Describe the difference between non-invasive and invasive breast cancer.
  • Identify rare types of breast cancer, including male breast cancer and pregnancy associated breast cancer.
  • Discuss breast cancer staging and the molecular subtypes of breast cancer.
