Title:  "Decisions Matter"     

Learning Objectives – Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:     

  • Recall the results of the RCT REAL trial and the Mayo Clinic Trial, which both demonstrated improved outcomes in robotic surgery compared to  laparoscopic surgery for Rectal Cancer.
  • Conclude that surgical learning curves are individualized and that learning, and improvement are lifelong endeavors.
  • Recognize patients' complications are improved by implementing MIS, feeding patients, and employing proper pain control management as fluid management.
  • Develop an outpatient surgical strategy for patients, one can conclude it is safe with similar outcomes and may be correlated with improved financial costs.
