This course addresses important issues such as equity advocacy, microaggressions, culturally sensitive care, and healthcare disparities among Hispanics. Abstract Session
We invite abstract submissions for the Hispanic Women in Medicine: Critical Needs for Empowerment and Transformation in Practice focusing on the contributions, challenges, achievements, and topics related to Diversity and Inclusion impacting Hispanic Women in Medicine . This conference aims to provide a platform for sharing research, experiences, and insights to advance the representation and success of Hispanic Women in healthcare. We invite you to take advantage of this unique opportunity and submit an abstract to be presented as a poster during the Hispanic Women in Medicine: Critical Needs for Empowerment and Transformation in Practice 2024.
Target Audience
Physician, physician assistant, nurse, nurse practitioner, resident fellow, and student.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify skills needed to overcome challenges faced by HWM.
- List cultural biases related to HWM stereotypes that may impact patient care.
- Assess practical strategies to increase well-being of HWM.
- Define skills for HWM leadership development.
- Recognize networking opportunities for HWM career advancement
- Examine healthcare disparities in the Hispanic population
- Contrast initiatives for community engagement in the Hispanic population.
