Thyroid and Parathyroid Disorders online course is offering a comprehensive review of diagnostic techniques and medical and surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders. Lecture topics include the assessment of benign thyroid diseases as well as pre-and postoperative management of thyroid cancer and parathyroid disorders.

Target Audience

This activity is appropriate for endocrinologists, endocrine surgeons, head and neck surgeons, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other providers who care for patients with thyroid and parathyroid disorders.

Learning Objectives

Recognize parathyroid (benign and malignant) disorders including best practices
• Recognize thyroid (benign and malignant) disorders including best practices
• Identify indications for parathyroid surgery including medical management of parathyroid diseases
• Recognize the role of parathyroid imaging in detection of parathyroid lesions
• Identify the accuracy of parathyroid imaging in detection of parathyroid in new promising imaging modalities
• Recognize the treatment of various parathyroid disorders in various complex conditions to include chronic kidney disease
• Identify non-surgical versus surgical management of thyroid nodules
• Identify non-surgical versus surgical management of thyroid cancer
• Recognize guidelines for the management of thyroid nodules versus thyroid cancer
• Recognize modern management of Graves Disease and Thyroid Eye Disease
• Identify medication related changes on thyroid function testing
• Identify the optimal management of hypothyroidism
• Recognize recent advances in clinical practice
