Topics include the preoperative preparation of the surgical patient; the latest updates in pain and critical care medicine; as well as the latest subspecialty anesthesiology updates in regional, obstetric, pediatric, neurosurgical, and cardiac anesthesiology.
Target Audience
This course is designed for practicing anesthesiologists, CRNAs, anesthesiology assistants, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and all other perioperative healthcare professionals.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify the ways artificial intelligence will transform the practice of anesthesiology in the near and far future.
- Discuss multiple ways that anesthetic protocols and techniques can facilitate earlier discharge from the hospital after surgery.
- Examine use of resuscitative echocardiography in the perioperative setting.
- Identify ways near-infrared ultrasound is different from traditional ultrasound in assisting vascular access.
- Recommend ways anesthesiologists can decrease aspiration risks for upper endoscopic procedures.
