The course provides tangible educational tools to faculty and senior residents that allow them to grow as surgical educators.

Target Audience
This course is designed for surgeons and trainees focusing on innovating and optimizing surgical education at Mayo Clinic and across the country.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Apply competency-based assessment tools to evaluate surgical trainees' performance across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
- List tools and approaches to create autonomy-supportive learning environments that enhance learner outcomes and improve educational climate.
- Identify at least three evidence-based strategies for delivering constructive feedback to surgical trainees.
