Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the prevalence of comorbid mental health diseases in patients with heart failure
  • Analyze the effects of depression on heart failure patient outcomes
  • Review current AHA/ACC guidelines of depression screening and management
  • Compare the outcomes of pharmacologic versus non-pharmacologic methods of depression management in patients with heart failure
