The course provides tangible educational tools to faculty and senior residents that allow them to grow as surgical educators.
Target Audience
This course is designed for surgeons and trainees focusing on innovating and optimizing surgical education at Mayo Clinic and across the country.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the current state of AI use in surgical education.
- List at least three validated AI assessment tools to evaluate surgical trainees' performance across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
- Explain what make an AI tool appropriate and useful versus what makes an AI tool inadequate or inefficient in surgical education.
