The Second Annual IBD Collaborative Care Team Bootcamp brings together providers, allied health professionals, patients, and families for collaborative education on inflammatory bowel disease across the lifespan. Through expert-led sessions and focused breakout tracks, participants will explore advances in IBD care, research, surgery, and transition planning to improve patient outcomes.

Target Audience

This course is designed for allied health professionals, dietetic technicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physicians, physician assistants, residents/fellows, and social workers.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the potential causes and pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease across age groups.
  • Describe the occurrence and distribution (epidemiology) of inflammatory bowel disease in children and adults.
  • Identify important diagnostic criteria and disease-activity assessment strategies for IBD in children and adults.
  • Identify evidence-based approaches to medical, endoscopic, and surgical management of IBD across the lifespan.
  • Identify psychosocial, health-maintenance, and logistical considerations associated with living with IBD and caring for individuals with IBD, including key considerations for pediatric-to-adult transition of care.
  • Describe collaborative, team-based strategies that align providers, allied health, patients, and families to improve overall IBD outcomes.
