Upon conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Define the role of newer antiviral medications in the treatment of viral hepatitis.
  • Summarize the evolving management of cholestatic disorders.
  • Describe the treatment approach to patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Identify current strategies for the management of Clostridium difficile infection.
  • Differentiate the newer anticoagulation agents and their management in patients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy.
  • Develop an approach to patients with esophageal motility disorders, including endoscopic treatment options for achalasia.
  • Review options for colorectal cancer screening, including fecal DNA testing.
  • Describe treatment options for irritable bowel syndrome.
