This 3-day conference will address a variety of health issues that are unique to women and highlight medical conditions that may cause varying symptoms which affect women differently than men, thus requiring special treatment or prevention protocols. The course format will include evidence-based and case-based presentations, use of interactive keypads, and Q & A panel discussions with the faculty.

Target Audience

This course is designed for primary care physicians/practitioners, general internists, gynecologists, specialists in preventative care, and other health care professionals who have an interest in Women's Health.

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Describe an approach to management of menopause, including the current guidelines on menopausal hormone therapy. 
  • Discuss the role of statin therapy for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease in women. 
  • Explain an approach to the management of recurrent UTI, including the role of the genitourinary syndrome of menopause 
  • Formulate an approach to the management of diabetes in women. 
  • Explain integrative approaches to treating the symptoms in breast cancer survivors.
  • Review strategies for treating acne and rosacea.
  • Explain the prevalence and diagnosis of sleep issues in women.
  • Describe the process of care model for hypoactive sexual desire disorder as published by ISSWSH. (International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual health)
  • Compare and contrast sex specific differences in dementia and headache. 
  • Explain an approach to the work up of genetic cancers and which tests to use.
