This is an introductory workshop for nurse practitioners and physician assistants who have limited experience in suturing. The workshop covers instrument basics such as suture types and selection, proper loading of the needle, wound assessment, local anesthesia, aftercare, and documentation. Participants will have the opportunity to practice basic suturing techniques. All supplies will be provided for the workshop. Enrollment is limited in order to optimize the learning experience.

Target Audience
This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Identify different suture materials and needles
- Demonstrate wound closure techniques
- Describe suture after care
