Objectives:

At the end of the presentation, the participant is able to:

  1. Describe the current literature related to best anesthesia practice.
  2. Describe the team dynamics needed to implement changes to current practices.
  3. Describe the literature content related to new anesthesia practices for a specific specialty area (e.g., OB, Pediatrics, Neuro, Cardiovascular, EENT, Out-patient, Transplant, Orthopedics, etc.)
  4. Explain the new pharmacology that impacts anesthesia case management.
  5. Describe the surgical procedures that impact anesthesia case management related to the specific literature reviewed during the session.

Teaching Methods:

Selected journal articles will be presented in PowerPoint with interactive audience discussion encouraged throughout the presentations. Audience polling system will be used by presenters as a discussion starter.

Learning Environment: This lecture series will be conducted in a lecture hall/conference room setting.
