Concussion remains one of the most common diagnoses encountered by rehabilitation providers, both acutely and in the long term. As our understanding of concussion evolves, so too do the evaluation and management strategies. This course aims to provide an updated, evidence-based approach to the evaluation and management of concussion in both sports and non-sports settings, addressing both acute and chronic phases of recovery.

The series begins by addressing some of the most frequently asked questions encountered in patient appointments, providing clear, evidence-based answers that help demystify concussion care for patients and providers alike. It continues, covering cognitive rehabilitation strategies, reviewing current guidelines for the acute evaluation and management of concussions in the sports setting and concluding with a panel discussion of real-world patient management scenarios, offering insights into best practices for treatment and rehabilitation across different settings.

Target Audience

The intended audience includes occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, speech language pathologists, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and therapy students. This series is open to Mayo Clinic employees only.
