Staying on top of documentation, billing and compliance requirements is an ongoing challenge as our healthcare system evolves. This course will address updates across major payers. Key elements of a PT/OT evaluation, progress reporting, and optimal billing and documentation, as well as compliance hot buttons for documentation.
This course is intended to satisfy the Minnesota PT professional ethics requirement.
Target Audience
The intended audience includes occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and therapy students. This series is open to Mayo Clinic Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation employees only.

Dr. Lynn Steffes is President/Consultant of Steffes & Associates Consulting Group LLC. She has over 40 years of experience as a physical therapist and over 25 years as a Healthcare Consultant, specializing in Revenue Cycle Management, Compliance & overall Practice Management. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Private Practice Section and speaks annually at every Private Practice Annual Meeting, as well as, for the Section at the APTA Combined Sections Annual Meeting. Lynn was a co-author of the How to Start a Private Practice Manual & Video Series.
Dr. Steffes serves as the American Physical Therapy Association of Wisconsin Payment Specialist. In that role, she serves as a member of the Therapy Stakeholders Group with WI Medicaid, Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee and the WI Worker's Compensation Council. She has extensive experience in working with provider audits and policy review & revision.
