CICU is offered weekly on Wednesday 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
PICU is offered weekly on Monday 12 - 1 p.m.
Learners may attend one or both sessions.
Pediatric Critical Care Didactics is a weekly conference series created for intensive care unit physicians, fellow and resident trainees, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, nurses, and respiratory therapists. The conference covers a variety of topics and presentation formats ranging from formal lectures to informal group discussions. The purpose of this conference series is to enhance and inform ICU practitioners on best practices with the goal to provide excellent and progressive patient care as well as discuss areas for quality improvement and research.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Describe new and/or interesting research or scientific reviews as they relate to pediatric and adult critical care medicine
- Explain how to critically evaluate scientific literature, including the review of study design, methodology, statistics and interpretation of results.
- Facilitate the use of JAMA EBM Guidelines for the critical review of one paper from Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and critically evaluate its impact on current practice.
TARGET AUDIENCE
M.D.'s, N.P/P.A.'s, Pediatric Critical Care Fellows, Pediatric Cardiology Fellows, Pediatric Anesthesia Fellows, Neonatal Fellows, Pediatric Residents, Nurses, and Respiratory Technicians. This will encompass subspecialties including pediatric critical care, pediatric cardiology, pediatric anesthesia and neonatology.
