COURSE DESCRIPTION

This presentation will discuss the mechanism of action and clinical uses of asparaginase. It will also compare and contrast asparaginase formulations and their roles in therapy. Finally, it will outline common toxicities associated with asparaginase and review possible management strategies.

At the conclusion of this knowledge-based CE session, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe clinical indications of asparaginase
  2. Review asparaginase formulations and their roles in therapy
  3. Discuss toxicities and management strategies of asparaginase therapy.

Catherine earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA and subsequently completed a PGY1 pediatric pharmacy residency at Mayo Clinic. She is one of the current PGY2 oncology residents and has interests in pediatric and adult hematology/oncology.
