Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Review spinal cord injury prevalence/incidence and current treatment prognosis.
  2. Summarize the basic principles of intrathecal stem cell treatment in spinal cord injury.
  3. Evaluate and discuss most recent data from phase I trial using adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells in traumatic spinal cord injury.
  4. Examine the available evidence of VR's effectiveness in improving balance and gait in subacute stroke patients, discussing its advantages over traditional rehabilitation methods.
  5. Demonstrate how VR and VRT contribute to personalized stroke rehabilitation plans, considering individual patient symptoms and recovery goals, to tailor treatments effectively for optimal outcomes.
  6. Analyze the design and outcomes of the clinical trial, focusing on the methodology used to evaluate the comparative effects of VR and VRT on balance, gait, and dizziness. This includes the use of standardized assessment tools and implications of the study's findings for future rehabilitation practices.
