Kristin Vickers Douglas, Ph.D.

Matthew Clark, Ph.D

Introduction

Dr. Kristin Vickers Douglas is a Professor of Psychology, Chair for Education, Clinical Health Psychologist, Medical Director of Mayo Clinic Wellness Coaching Program and Medical Psychology Fellowship Director, Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, Mayo Clinic.   She is a nationally recognized clinician, educator and researcher.  She has trained numerous health care providers across the country in cognitive behavioral therapies. 

Matthew M. Clark, PhD is a Professor of Psychology, Chair for Research, and Resiliency Domain Leader at the Healthy Living Center, Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, Mayo Clinic.  For many years Dr. Clark has been leading our institutions efforts to design and document the outcomes from our employee based resiliency programs. 

For over ten years Drs. Vickers Douglas and Clark have worked with a wellness team which includes physicians, nurses, wellness coaches, wellness specialists, exercise specialists, chaplains, and physical therapist.  This presentation is designed to enhance clinical knowledge of these important areas 

Learning Objectives

  • Describe advances in cognitive behavioral therapies

  • Review the evidence-based resiliency interventions delivered at Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program

  • Give examples of how to conduct research in these two areas of positive psychology
